Fault Finder's Paradise
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Fading away.
And fast.
Quicker than an eyelash,
Can remove it from sight.
Is a once to use,
Fault Finder's Paradise.
So dependable it had been,
To point fingers and accuse...
Those innocently abused,
For this amusement to do.
And with a doing to expect,
It easily done to pick and choose...
The very ones,
Who were made to believe...
Would stay and remain defenseless.
Times come to change,
A pendulum that swings...
Away from deceivers.
Now observed and seen,
Running away.
In attempts to avoid,
What returns back to them and brings.
And not one is witnessed,
Laughing at all.
In fact,
When a boomerang is thrown...
By those unfamiliar as to how it is used?
Should first learn,
That a throwing anything in one direction...
Has a way to return.
To come back to whomever,
Began the act to have it start.
'We didnt throw anything like that,
To have it like that come back.
None of us had pushed a pendulum.
Nor do any of us,
Own or know how to use a boomerang!'
'So...
What is it are you running away from?'
'Metaphors!
And...
How they can be used to fear them.'
'You know,
Someone said a long time ago...
There is nothing to fear but fear itself.
What was it that you did,
To make you run away from it?'
'Guilt!'
'Guilt?
The guilt of what?'
'A doing of something,
We should not have done.
But thought it fun to do.'
'This makes no sense.'
'We were told that.
But no one listened to paid attention.
Now?
We are overwhelmed with guilt to feel.
And doing our best to run away from it.'
'Oh.
Well...
Hopefully you will find,
The minds you all have lost!'
