O' Beautiful Rose
O’ Beautiful Rose
By Matt Wohlfarth
O’ Beautiful Rose
Your life is so like mine
We are both one of a kind
O’ Beautiful Rose
When I look upon you
I see my life
I see my time
Your young bud individual symmetry
Yet for the world to see
You take in sunlight and rain
Your young stem gains aplomb
Inside your petals grow
Not disclosing which hew they will be
Until they bloom
Will they glow in a current of contentment
Or support in a time of sorrow
O’ Beautiful Rose
Your life is so like mine
We are both one of a kind
O’ Beautiful Rose
When I look upon you
I see my life
I see my time
Live today as the supreme gift
And don’t fret the ‘morrow
Only the universe can dictate your fate
As you ride on the bus of creation
Just enjoy the ride whether
Your destiny be ease the agony
Or prolong our elation
Your time is short But your presence
will grace This world like no other
O’ Beautiful Rose
Your life is so like mine
We are both one of a kind
O’ Beautiful Rose
When I look upon you
I see my life
I see my time
Bridge
For that is the way of the nature-that we call mother
When the petals of life are dried and full of season
And we reach back for our one and only reason
We can search look back and honestly say
It was our job to light the world
If just for one day. To light the world
If just for one day.
O’ Beautiful Rose
Your life is so like mine
We are both one of a kind
O’ Beautiful Rose
When I look upon you
I see my life
I see my time
O’ Beautiful Rose when I look upon you
I see me.
About this poem
One of the first poems I wrote about my neighbors garden. I couldn't wait for them to bloom. I guessed wrong a lot.
