What's the point?

Why do we go to work 6 days a week to only look forward to one?
Will we be proud of it when the work is done?
Or will we feel a fleeting sense of relief as we pile on more;
Until the clock reaches 5, and we walk out the door.

Why are kids taught to bottle up creativity?
So they can work 9 to 5 with fast productivity?
In a world where it’s hard to be joyful and sunny-
To be happy in a world that costs money.

Is this it? Is this the goal?
To just survive until we’re in a hole?
What we do the most is the work we dread,
Just existing, waiting 'til I’m dead.
