You're not a sickness.
I know you don't have the strength to fight your demons right now.
I just want you to know that you're worth it, you have to find how.
You're afraid to give me the sickness, but it's something I already have.
It just ebbs and flows inside of me, it's not like I have the miracle salve.
If that were true, then I already would have cured you.
Because that would be something I'd be happy to do.
There is nothing wrong with you inside.
So please don't stay away, and just hide.
You have this amazing gift, with your poetry.
Through it I feel your every heartache and plea.
I just want to know that you are okay.
At the end of each and every day.
You don't have to be perfect, cause neither am I.
I'm not going to sit here, and write a horrendous lie.
We have seen each other in our sickness and health.
To me it's never been about the fame or wealth.
I just want to be there to support you, while you're trying to repair your soul.
I will stand on the sidelines, so that I won't distract you, but this is my goal.
I might just feel some of your pain, and I know that you feel low.
With what you've been through, it's a mighty rocky road to tow.
I just want you to know, that I am here for you.
I am willing to do what it is, you want me to do.
Just please don't ask me, what I'm afraid of, I don't want to go away.
Let's just find a cure for the sickness together, so that I can stay.
They say there is strength in numbers, and you are mine.
So it's time for us, to stand our ground, and draw the line.
You are my best friend, the very best part of me.
I know you are sad, it's just a part of our reality.
You're not a sickness, that I'm afraid to get.
I just hate that you're living with all this regret.
Whereas I may seem dainty and frail.
I can be a cast iron and sturdy rail.
Just rely on me, and please don't hide what you have to say.
Because you know in your heart, I wouldn't want it that way.
This was your place first, it's your place of solace too.
I would still be in the dark and lost, if it weren't for you.
