Halloween, an only slighlty late commentary ( 61 reads) Monday, November 02, 2009 (04:03:11)

I like Halloween. It's the only day of the year that your allowed to wear masks in banks. Armed robbery aside, I had a rather odd Halloween.

I was dressed in my ceremonial mask dedicated to the Lord my God, George Walker Bush, while my companions, Matt and Sasha, wore Hillary Rodham Clinton and slasher film cliche masks respectively. We went from door to door exclaiming "trick or treat" with our horrendous impersonations of the people of Sasha's glorious nation, Russia. Yes, we really are that idiotic. Needless to say, the people loved us. They would laugh as I would say "We are lovers" pointing at Matt who would then place the face of his mask on my rubber cheek, as well as when I would call the steps in front of every houses "socialist" when I tripped due to George Bush's limited ability to see. The true highlight of the evening, though, was when I began to ask every person that we passed for a "high-five," referencing the film Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. Evidently, I made this offering of peace to the wrong bystander, who began to follow us. He began to gain on us, so we walked faster. This did not help. He began to walk faster, so we walked faster. This continued until the fast-walking evolved into a mild jog, and eventually a lazy sprint. 'Twas at this point that I realized I had technology for an ally, and asked my friends if we should call the police. Don't misjudge my intelligence, for obviously, we should've called the freakin' cops. I merely wished for the scary man in the bearded hermit suit to leave us alone. After requesting this loud enough so that the TFL advocate behind us could hear, he hopped a fence into a random person's yard. My Halloween ended with iced coffee and classic cinema, including the aforementioned "movie-film." We also watched V for Vendetta and Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Did I mention I drew a beard on Hillary Clinton's face?

Hilarious, wonderful and quite exciting... I suppose we're all wondering about the bearded hermit following you block after block; perhaps he just wanted to join your cheerful crowd????
Tee-hee, I envy you... our little village was quiet as a ghost on Halloween, having years ago passed an ordinance against Trick-or Treating... due to lack of streetlights. Silly spoil sports...
This was great fun to read, Tomlop, I felt like I was there too.
Cheers, Mary Ann

That was a fun blog!! Very Happy This winter, with a huge bowl of popcorn on my lap, I hope to finally watch V for Vendetta. I've read no reviews or watched any scenes so I'm uber looking forward to it. Thanks for the reminder.
