Hello again to one and all. This Slam is dedicated to all of those who've fought and lived or lost their lives. As Remembrance Day draws near, can we all take some time to reflect upon those saviours that gave so much of themselves, to fight for that freedom which we take for granted today. Time fades memories so swiftly, for theirs is the ultimate sacrifice, Lest We Should Forget. Can you submit Poems themed around Remembrance please. Fond Regards. Leggolas.

Thank you for your thoughtfullness, Mark. For all the soldiers of all the nations - One reason I posted the poem I did is because of the list included, a reminder of the sacrifice made from unlikely places many may be unaware of. Each and every soul had a family; a mom and dad, perhaps a wife or husband and blessed little children waiting for them to come home, someday...
Peace, Mary Ann

my heart is filled with emotion in reading here. How could we ever forget the freedoms that are ours at the cost of lives given for this cause. May we remember with pride. Well done all/ hugs Melly

Brilliant. This is by far the best dedication and expression I have read in a very long time. You have done an excellent job of not only remembering those of whom so many have forgotten, but you have also done a remarkable job of reminding all of us to do the same. Excellent.

Dear Camille, thank you for your complimentary words. 'I Remember' was written in the hope that it would stir reflection, not only from those who regularly pay their respects, but also from those who have so scant regard for those heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice.

“Ode of Remembrance”
Laurence Binyon's "For the Fallen",
They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
