Can anyone tell me why it says that I have 65535 messages that I don't have and how to fix the problem?

I just deleted all my messages and it solved the problem. So what is done is done.

cursed. again. i too deleted my entire in box. and the problem went away.
only to re-surface.
New: 65533
fogs/john? is it that i am doing something perhaps wrong that you know of?
should i clear all my cookies....hmmmmm wondering......

I just had this issue - after deleting a SPAM PM without reading it, the count went to 65533. It was my only message.
After clicking "Delete All" in each folder it is now fixed.
