Barnes and Noble
has answers for nearly
everything
but she
feels drawn to New Age
thumbs through Dylan
avoids self-help and psychology
dreams to find her destiny
crouching on the aisle floor
sips her coffee
slightly cooled
at a table by the door
and waits
tick
for fate
tick
to stroll into the store…

tick...
tick...
tick...

But sometimes
fate
has a monthly fee
and doesn’t come with coffee.

I enjoyed your poem, the first line was an attention getter with ref. to "Barnes and Noble". There's such an atmosphere associated with a book store; the smells, noise level, etc. Great setting for a poem!

I especially liked the ending:

But sometimes
fate
has a monthly fee
and doesn’t come with coffee.
