I have an ex wife, a current wife, five grown daughters, and one that's sixteen. it is only partially tongue in cheek. the rest is direct observation. (care to see my checkbook?)
"typical"?
Definitions of typical on the Web:
exhibiting the qualities or characteristics that identify a group or kind or category; "a typical American girl"; "a typical suburban community"; "the typical car owner drives 10,000 miles a year"; "a painting typical of the Impressionist school"; "a typical romantic poem"
distinctive: of a feature that helps to distinguish a person or thing; "Jerusalem has a distinctive Middle East flavor"
conforming to a type; "the typical (or normal) American"; "typical teenage behavior"

as a matter of fact, I would agree- but I'm willing to examine evidence to the contrary. I don't mean to say this proclivity neatly "sums" up the american female. there is of course "much , much more". and one size does not fit all. I am not "anti woman" I am a huge fan, (a groupie even) of the fairer sex. but there are "traits". (men have them too!

) neither sex conforms entirely to type. yet, there is a "type."
I fly in the face of my "type"in some regards:
I can't stand football, bowling, fishing, baseball, golf (except miniature) basketball and would consider it torture to endure the world series or super bowl. but i do share the "typical" male traits of being enchanted by short skirts, strappy sandals, pumps, pouty lips, breathy voices, and even more "base"idiocy common to my gender. though i would like to say on the record- I do not light my farts with a bic lighter.
