it's funny how in a poem a poet can tell you something you never think about is "is" this or that. all of a sudden, you find your self in agreement. the ghetto IS complete. It's like I've just heard The Word. The ghetto is still any heartbreaking adjective you can glue onto it with a bucket of paste, but nevertheless, "complete".
re: cat. I'm seeing a jazz hipster definition here baby!

I love it when someone churns the pot and tosses older stuff up to the top. I never would have seen this otherwise, and I totally agree with arpeggio - it's a perfect metaphor.

I like this. It even recalls the original, Italian meaning of "ghetto" which implied a walled section of a city -- the first ghetto was the walled section of the city of Venice where the Jews lived. Still there -- I visited it a few years back.
Well done, indeed. Good example of how much you can do with very few words.
