I was just wondering how is it made known that a given tag-team poem is finished. Are they finished? Do they keep going?

I'd love to contribute to this, but I wouldn't want to accidentally contribute something to a completed tag-team poem. Are there indicators? "Closed" flags on completed tag-team poems?

We're like Store 24 - always open, but I'm glad you asked because I've been pondering how to split off branches and start new branches. Just jump right in - unlike "collaborative poems" which are meant to grow into a cohesive single work, tag teaming just gives you a new last line as a jumping-off point, so there's never an ending, just new poems.

Thank you for that. Now I don't have to worry about coming in with something just after a good conclusion of some kind.

Funny you should say that chameleon, because I decided to quickly grap a selection of lines I liked from each contribution on page one, not altering a word by the way and I came up with this - and you know what - it reckon it works (in a fun, surreal, trippy kinda way):

GP MIND MELD No.1

Nothing more is needed

The window collapses on itself,
blown in as the twister rumbles through
and makes a blender of our lives

Yes, the way you predictably come and go
and never fail to leave behind flash floods

now
tomorrows breath is todays hope
today i hope for tomorrows breath

life's rhythmical reminder

I could never own that walk

stumbling through life in mommy's high heels
I don't think I'll make a real transvestite
wear my heart in fire-engine heels

Inside their own closets
skeletons discuss humans
inside their closets - who's coming out

A friendship with trust, lust & love?

Isn't this fun?

a game you learnt as a child
pefected as an adult
is now pulling us apart
at the mental seams

grinding against each other's need

one more tender gesture
to hang a fallen dream

I reach round and rub your clitoris
my breath a dragon at your neck

who said:
living is easy with eyes closed ?

goose bumps waking the farmer
he suggested to agree to disagree
to lick the liquor clean

feline befuddlement
a cat's eye view of lover's embrace
or was it that liquor licked her

less sense meant more feeling
the desperate hungry whore for love she was.

Nice one.

Actually, I think it might be interesting to do something like this:

someone beat you to a last line that you wanted to play with? Don't despair... use it to start a new topic. So... three people liked the hungry whore line? Split from there with the first taker continuing in the original thread, and two more branches continuing in their own threads.

How's that sound?

sounds fun.
but not as much fun as cross-referencing, or
waking up to find yourself dead
trapped on the outside of your self-
all in your head-
and a man says:
see ya, wouldn't wanna be ya
and a ghost sells you shackles, saying "man they're gonna free ya."

and a ghost sells you shackles, saying "man they're gonna free ya".
but freedom never comes at all
You are trapped in your own mind
And you wake up and realize to find
The screaming was a unwanted dream

The screaming was a unwanted dream
huddle yes so that may seem
look closely
over there mostly
where the partition failed
they wailed
connection failed
feel
fell
whispers feel it now
blossoms and sow
two legs enters
speaks a piece a dying grace
