Like most wannabe poets, I've sent a poem or two off to online magazines (one responded almost immediately with thanks, but no thanks); others take longer.

For those of you who are published and who also write here - how do you separate the two? Most magazines - either in print or online, won't take a poem that's been previously published, and that I suppose would include poems on this site. I don't write often enough - I'm not prolific - to have two separate streams of poetry going: one for here, and another for submission to magazines.

So I'd be happy to hear how you manage to provide poems here, and also how you manage to write poems to be published as well. (That's not to say that poems here aren't of publishable standard - much the contrary!)

The poems that I post here have copyright in my name. Many places will take a poem if you have your own copyright to it. Many!

I know some poets will delete their work here once it has been published. There are others that just take the chance that no one will notice.... shhhh!
