Hello Help Desk,

You Know I try not to bug the hell out of you good folks; but I am just interested in how I fell from 27 in ranking to not even in ranking at all in 1 day. Why was my user name taken out of ranking all together when poets that are not even posting to site for months are still in ranking? Am I being punished for some reason for my political point of view? Or is this an oversight?

BWP... James...

The rankings are time bound. After a while, the old ratings do not apply.

John, I have never seen this happen before and there are poets that are not posting at all in any forum, not commenting on anyone works and still in the rankings. How does that happen? Please explain that to this dense soul. Poets that leave gone a year come back post one or two poems, get a few comment and don't answer any of them and then nothing more for months still in ranking and I post at least one or two poems a week most weeks. From 27 to not in ranking in one day? I never seen that happen to anyone in one day they slowly fall out of ranking.

John, I was writing you along letter this morning (nothing nasty) and not checking the ranking. Before I posted the letter I did check ranking? Can you tell me what happened; because there I am back at 27 in ranking. I know I have not been very active in answering comments; This is the time of the year that gardening comes before poetry and comments; I am working my ass off to have tomatoes that don't taste like a store bought tomato and watermelons that are still green or over ripe and some Wal-Mart employe asking me if I still have my receipt after driving 10 miles back to the store; I like melons sweet.

Is this what happened?

ACTIVE: Poets must have 10 or more openly rated poems published in the past 6 months to be ranked.

And I had far more at 207?

Thanks John....

James, first you have 57 or so poems that qualify for the ranking, not 207. I was curious about the ranking chart so I just went there. It seems to me that it would be quite easy to push the wrong button and see a completely different chart with different rankings where your name would not appear. Say if you clicked the All Poets or Top Poets, etc. Or a computer glitch for a day. All things possible.

But why worry at all about it? I say "Chill", relax, it is summer and too hot for such concentration on trivialities. Find a hammock and rock yourself to calm.

Thank you Doris, I just came in from moving the water sprinkler in my garden and feeding my livestock; now sitting cooling off from something more than goings on, on GP; triple digit temps and index of 116. I just wanted a better understanding of what happened and not trying to be trivial. I check my ranking ever now and then; meaning not everyday, just for curiosity. So I questioned what I saw. What does ranking mean anyway going by openly rated votes? Ranking does not say what level of poet you are. I comment on very little these days; because of time. What do comments and votes really mount up to; surely not how good a poet is. A lot of comments seem to me like more of a pat on the head between friends. So I agree it is trivial; but it is part of the site.

ACTIVE: Poets must have 10 or more openly rated poems published in the past 6 months to be ranked.

And I had far more at 207? Actually I am not counting poems here I counted openly rates and I misspoke. It still leaves me around 57 as you spoke of; far a head 10 openly rated poems.
