Special thanks to all the poets, judges and audience for coming out to
our last event.

Hot off their appearance at the first ABQ Haiku Championship at
MASPoetry Wednesday night, The LifePoets (Tazuo Yamaguchi,
Ulyses Dorantes and Cara Anthieny) take their travelling roadshow
across the river to feature at the HOWLIN' HORSE POET'S NIGHT open-mic
and poetry slam this FRIDAY night at the PAINTED HORSE COFFEEHOUSE
(9311 Coors NW, off Paseo del Norte and Coors - next to Movies West;
near Ross and Target).

LifePoets Cara Anthieny, Ulyses Dorantes and Tazuo Yamaguchi roll out
on the road in August 2006 throughout the Southwest. They bring with
them haiku, kicking performance poems, and a caravan equipped with a
state of the art ipod video studio ready to capture, prepare, and make
available on the internet the hottest spoken word poetry on the planet.

Also, big congrats to Tony Santiago for winning the first ever ABQ
City Haiku Title. This is Tony's fourth city title since 2003 and his
fifth city title overall (he was the Santa Fe city champion last
year). Our runner-up, Grace, took Tony to the 17th haiku in the tense
and torrid title match (which was best 9 of 17!). So big ups to Grace
as well!

So again:

and producing poetry slam films for over a decade and
is a two national haiku champion. He brings haiku
mischief, his poetics, and his passion for capturing
on digital reels hot poets.

Cara and Ulyses have been members of the highly
appraised 05 Chico Youth Poetry Slam Team (who placed
3rd at youth poetry nationals) and 06 Chico Youth
Poetry Slam Team (who placed 7th at youth poetry
