AT THE BOSTON POETRY SLAM
Boston Poetry Slam March 12: Benefit for the Team going to the Brave New Voices Poetry Slam Youth Nationals in Chicago in April. The team: Alice D., Emily Farquaharson, Erin Feeney, Katie Fowley, and Sydney Roy. Come out and support, and enjoy the show-- these girls know how to perform!

February Slam Winners meet in the second Semi-final.

March 19: Our own version of Charles Starkweather and Carol Fugate return from a road trip. See Craig Nelson and Nina Simon bring home the show they have been perfecting for six weeks out of town. Semi-final slam winners meet in the winter championship slam.

April 9: Everyone who has won an open slam at the Cantab since the last nationals is eligible to slam tonight for a spot on the
team. We will go two rounds. The top eight will go on to the team finals the following week.

April 16: The top eight slammers from April 9 will go two rounds. We will drop the two low-scoring poets. The remaining six will go
two more rounds, and the top four will be the Cantab team for 2003.

April 23: Reading and book signing for Michael Brown's two new books of poetry, Susquehanna and The Man Who Makes Amusement Rides. Open slamnews.com/eight.html 8x8 slams begin again.

May 7: Jack McCarthy has a new book, Say Good Night,Grace Notes. Come and get it!

May 14: Oh, it's wicked soon, but you ought to put this on your calendar. Douglas Bishop has put together an Odysseus extravaganza. A bunch of poets read a variety of work related to the man who took forever to get home. Included are Jack McCarthy,Nancy Hewitt, Laureen Evans, Michael Brown, and Douglas himself doing some of their own work as well as some by Homer, James Joyce, and Derek Walcott.

The 2003 National Poetry Slam will be held in Chicago, Illinois
August 6-9, 2003
