Coming up on Sunday, September 24th

[image: Tony Brown] The feature this week at the Poets' Asylum is no
stranger to Worcester poetry. *Tony Brown* is an award winning published
poet and performer whose work straddles the line between page and stage. He
has been involved with slam poetry for many years in many capacities, has
read and performed his work all over the US, and currently runs a reading
series in Providence RI. He also is a columnist at gotpoetry.com. Tonight
he'll release a new chap book, *Jim's Fall*, and will be working with a
bassist.

Join us at the Java Hut, 1073A Main Street in Worcester. The sign-up list
goes up around 7:00 p.m. and the open mic will start sometime after that.
The feature follows the open mic. You don't want to miss this.

September 17th Revisited

Busy night at the Asylum with an open mic, spotlight feature and the first
slam of the season. That's a lot of words packed into 2.5 hours. Several new
voices graced the stage this week including 2 first time Worcester slammers;
welcome to all. *Holly Riggs* was our spotlight this week. She shared a
handful of poems with us as she spoke on throwing words, the ideal woman and
shared her "universal" love poem. Excellent work.
