PA- Confluence girls to compete in national contest

Two Confluence girls will bring history to life in a national competition in Washington, D.C. in June.
Sisters Addie Best, 12, and Scout Best, 13, won first place at the state competition for National History Day in Pittsburgh May 4. Their live performance, called "From Guantanamera to the Bay of Pigs: The Poetry and Politics of Jose Marti," won them a spot in the national competition..

New Orleans Center for Creative Arts student wins first in poetry contest: Schoo

Poetry News: Jack Mierl, a junior at Mandeville High and a student in the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts' Creative Writing Department, won first place in the Southern University Pinkie Gordon Lane Poetry Contest for his poem, "We Walk Down Rosemary Beach." Mierl competed against more than 60 entries from Louisiana high school students.

Miss Perrett, aged 18, was crowned at a rescheduled event at Pershore’s Number 8 Theatre, beating 14 other finalists.
