Submissions Call for Biker Poets & Writers Anthology Friday, December 30, 2005 (00:21:16) Posted by On December 19, 2005, the Biker Poets & Writers Association (BPWA) was formally organized and created by founder Joe _JoeGo_ Gouveia of Massachusetts and co-founder K. Peddlar Bridges _The Peddlar_ of Maine. JoeGo is currently Membership Secretary and The Peddlar co-founder of the Highway Poets Motorcycle Club (HPMCC) www.highwaypoets.org the international organization of published bikers. After years of publishing and riding with the HPMCC, these two biker poets decided to form the BPWA in the spirit of unity, to create one central association to further promote the writings of all biker poets & writers everywhere. In that spirit, the BPWA is already undertaking its first project, an anthology of biker poetry, song lyrics, short stories and articles. Submission guidelines are as follows: 3 to 5 poems or song lyrics; 2 to 3 short stories or articles. All submissions must be on the theme of riding or an experience related to riding and/or the road. Deadline for submissions is March 15, 2006, and the anthology is scheduled for release the following August, which ezine www.RoadPoet.com has declared Biker Poetry Month. August _05 found www.RoadPoet.com sponsoring twenty two biker poetry readings across every New England state and parts of New York. August _06 will mark the 2nd annual Biker Poetry Month, and all bikers published in the BPWA anthology will be invited to read at a RoadPoet/BPWA sponsored event.
