Posted by mamta on Thursday, June 10, 2010 (00:44:08)
There since the beginning have been Talib Kweli and his partner in rhyme, DJ Hi-Tek. For Kweli, poetry is written for the benefit of mankind – equality, not the ego (i.e., dropping the “I’s” and “me’s” in the verses and replacing them with “we’s” and “us’s”). A poet's defence of underground hip-hop and rap

Where We're From
Posted by anna9 on Thursday, September 03, 2009 (07:10:00)
From stpaulrealestateblog.com :I'm a sucker for my city. Hip hoppers in particular know how to hype their hometown to the point you can't think of them without thinking of their city. Snoop = Long Beach. Nelly = St. Louis. Ludacris = Atlanta. I think that's pretty cool. I'd like it if people looked at me and thought, "Man, that's some serious Saint Paul right there." Link!
