Jared Paul arrested at the Republican National Convention

As you may already know, I was arrested at the Republican National Convention last month. A few friends and I were in a park listening to the Take Back Labor Day concert in St. Paul when several hundred heavily armed police blocked off the street, surrounded the park, and detained everyone inside. I was charged with "Felony Riot" and taken to Ramsey County Jail, where I would stay for the next 3 days. During that time I was twice forced to strip naked before an armed guard, refused medical attention, physically threatened by correctional officers, and held on 23 hour a day cell confinement.

We've got a very special show this week @ PROVIDENCE SLAM!!
Not only are we hosting our monthly singer/songwriter open mic, but
we've also got a little something extra!!
In preparation for the upcoming Brave New Voices National Youth
Poetry Slam ( held in mid-July in Washington D.C. ), we're hosting a
3-team Youth Slam Regional featuring the Connecticut, Worcester, and
Providence Youth teams!

There's no age limit for participants - just get there at 7:30 when the
sign-up list is posted ( make sure you get there before the list is
full ). We're also having a small open mic before the slam.
Come check out the show, share your art ( or at least watch other people
share theirs ), and most importantly support your local writing
community!

This time Featuring The RhodeShow!!!!!!!
The Rhode Show is a performing arts group that functions under the AS220 Broad Street Studio. Through Hip-Hop, Jazz, R&B/Soul, and Spoken Word they foster creativity and change by validating the voice and talent of young people. The group is dedicated to creating and performing original works of art based on their life experiences, their community, and their passion for expression They believe the performing arts are an important means of developing an appreciation of all cultures and use them to promote diversity and critical thought. Their ultimate goal is to use their music and creative process as a tool to empower, engage, and educate youth.
