Stolen Snapshots
Eric ZORK Alan, a 4 time National Slam Poet competitor, is probably best known for standing on chairs. He is also known for gratuitously dropping names... like that he is the only poet ever to have his books [appropriately called "I am NOT a poet" blurbed by Dave Jones, Dobie Gray AND Wild Cherry. Zork had features as most of the hottest poetry venues in the country including Chicago's legendary Green Mill where slam started. He has boasted ZorkSlams spotlighting student poets from Salt Lake City, UT to Portland, MA and he has even taught High School teachers how to teach slam poetry to students at college campuses coast to coast. He hosts Westchester County's two largest poetry series and the public access show: "EVERYone is a poet."
This column is presented in Video Log format, or as a Vlog. There's a little text so you can find it and the rest is given to you as video entertainment to watch and enjoy.... so ENJOY!

The GotPoetry Vlog by Zork!
Posted by John on Friday, August 25, 2006 (17:17:06)
Now appearing on GotPoetry.com - a Video Log of poets performing and interviews with those poets. A blog in video format... whicked hard core exciting!
Eric Zork Alan is a National Slam Poet and author of "I am NOT a poet" and "Things to do with beer bottles." In this clip he features at one of NYC's hottest poetry venues and drops names of the likes of Phill Collins, Lili Taylor, Dobie Gray, Davie Jones, Peter Gallagher etc.
Why? Well, the poem tells all... When touring, this is always his opening poem. It's a great way to grab an audiences attention and start a set by interacting with them. It also steals a trick from Chaka Khan where at the end he has every one screaming out his name.
A fitting start to his GotPoetry.com column.
