Who Are You?

“In a world where you can be anything……..be yourself”

I crack a slight grin at the idea but then that brief moment of bliss vanished behind the harsh reality that that could never be.

The cold feeling of death wraps around me as I reflect on who it is I used to be. I then question who I am.

Albert Einstein once said “Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death”. Each day I gaze into the mirror wondering who it is staring back at me.

While the answer is not as certain as two plus two is four. I am positive that I’m not the man I was last year, last month, last week, or even a minute ago.

See, age is measured by your time on earth but it is multiplied by experience. While I hope my worst days are behind me, I know pleasure doesn’t mean as much without hardship.

My yesterdays are the ink that write my tomorrows but I hope my novel is far from complete. The daily grind leaves me polished but I’m still and unfinished project.

While death is inevitable, life is a gamble. So why not bet it all on yourself?

So then I ask, In a world where you can be anything…….Who Are You?
