I swallowed a bee

I swallowed a bee, oh silly me.
But I’ll tell you how it happened.
I sat in the garden on a summer’s day.
Eating sweets in the rudest fashion.

I should have kept the bag so covered.
Whilst chomping, and chasing my brother.
But Mrs Bee she climbed inside.
To see what nectar I did hide.

It was a bag of penny sweets.
Such a mixture of delights you see.
I thought I’d try the furry one.
Was it curry flavour? It stung my tongue.

I jumped around and screamed for mum.
She came outside to aide her son.
But it was too late she had flown right down.
Into my tummy, as I rolled on the ground.

Now this was forty years ago.
And she’s still buzzing somewhere down below.
An explanation I do beg.
Is it why I've got such hairy legs?
