Abused- 3 [Sweet Angel of Death]

Guilt, shame, fear, loneliness
Have been her closest companions.
Goodbye never meant to be painful.
She stands with confidence at the crossroads.

The afterlife eagerly awaiting her,
Freedom's taste teasing her tongue.
The clock, now a dear friend,
Bidding her closer.

A flash of silver, a single quick slash:
Only a moment of stinging shock.
She watches the carpet absorb her liquid red,
The ritual to drain and purge oneself of all evil.

The ground rises up to meet her,
Thick fog settles over her mind.
Flashes of that fateful night, now anable to hurt her.
She lies blissfully, savouring the blank silence.

The Angel of Death, keeping a close eye,
Spreads his wings protetively around her.
She shivers a little, then goes still,
Honouring his presence.

The pain slowly ebbs away and melts into sweet nothingness.
She sighs half in content, half in sorrow.
She drowns in calming release,
She floats in total peace.

Her mother's voice sings softly far far away,
She fades tenderly, Hell's fumes now extinguished.
As a single tear escapes her eye,
She reaches out and is hauled into quiet blackness.
