Nothing But Time

You say
We got nothing but time, baby...
So let's take it
I said, let's shape this
Into the better half of our lives
Let's sacrifice the future fuss & fight
And set aside all of the presently petty differences,
'Cause honey, I'd rather appreciate every single minute
I get to hold you tight
I wanna do this right
So let's replace the potential dissonance
With a little compromise
So we can spend our nights formulatin'
Inventive conversations
That could stimulate the mind to stay awake
That's right, baby
I want you to mentally sedate me
Lay me down then verbally debate me
Yeah, I want you to embrace & fornicate me
For hours on end
With words until the moon sets
And winter bends beneath pitch black shadows
Or, at least, until this midnight blends
'Cause I would rather step aside to give in
Than give up an inch of this hallowed
Ground we somehow found ourselves walkin' upon
So let's just let these
Hours tick-tock
As we baby-step and walk along
Blue lines and horizons
Oh baby, I want you to kindly let me
Watch the sunrise
Break thru the dawn from deep inside
Your eyes and
Let's let we
Become intricately intertwined,
Like history books and fairy tales
So even if history failed
You & I could still make bail
Instead of bailin' out on us
I said, let's just take our time, baby
'Cause there's absolutely no need to rush
Oh no, but it's you that I need
Yeah, and from what I can see
It's like what you said to me
We got all the time in the world for us

I haven't read a poem that made me smile like this in a long time. My favorite:
