Superhero

by Lionheart

I swooped in for the rescue
My little man in distress
I am your superhero
Soaring high above the rest

My x-ray vision saw you
Clear through to your golden heart
My boy with eyes that sparkled
Dreaming we could never part

As time wore on
And you grew older
As people often do
Our hearts were one
A steely bond
Like paper stuck with glue

Then one day you left me
To fly where eagles go
Over the sky above
With angels all aglow

I still want to be your hero
Even after all these years
I’m your mighty man of steel
Rusting in this sea of tears

" Lionheart

Lionheart,

As I wipe away a tear, I am certain you are his Super Hero always. You have written a lovely memorial to someone
blessed to have shared those years with you, and vice-versa.

On Father's Day, let me say "bless you" for being the best father a lil' bear could have had. Jeremy is at peace now and I think he has his fishing pole and is headed for that immortalized duckpond. You gave Jer-Bear many happy experiences in his short life. Heartwrenching, yet at the same time, heartwarming poem; not an easy one to write. J.

Happy fathers day my bud.. Your super dad you know and a hero to many including myself. Hugs for you.. You know of course that you will always be his hero and time nor death can erase what you have given nor what you have been. He is in your heart always and you wear the cape of dad ... Lovely write and a tearful one. Made only more beautiful by your good heart. Hugs Melly

G'day Dave...
This poem of yours certainly hit home, and even harder when I read the memorial. A great testimony to your young hero.

Oh Lion...what a wonderful..fun-filled life your Jeremy must have had with YOU as his 'superhero'. THAT is what matters most, isn't it? The bond you both shared as he lived? I'm happy to hear that you know he is well and happy and that you still are his hero in your heart. God Bless you, Lion.
Julie
