Your Eyes

Looking into your eyes
I see an open range
Begging me to draw closer
In this intimate exchange

Intense spheres of russet
With little specs of gold
Encompassed by their power
And the promise that they hold

Captured within your awe
Seeing their doors to hope
As you look down upon me
Embracing me in your scope

This exchange is honest
Your intent, pure and rare
Your eyes speak only truth and
Sweetly whisper that you care

Looking into your eyes
They almost have a glow
Needing no spoken words
What they say, I simply know

As Harvey Milk in the film "Milk" says (quoting him from real life) "You've gotta give them hope!" This poem gives me hope that you're out of that downward spiral and returning to the top of your game...or is this just an illusion? John
