Won't You Join Me At My table?

by realrhoda

Won’t you join me at my table
And partake of food and wine?
Will you tell me some old stories
And I’ll share a few of mine?

We can chew on ancient wisdom
While we drink to fate’s cruel twists
But let us too acknowledge
All the moments ripe with bliss

Won’t you join me at my table?
For I’ve yet a lot to learn
I seek to know your longings,
Passions spent and bridges burned

I will savor your confessions
Never judging, fear thee not
Tasting of your essence
Spicing up my ragout pot

Won’t you join me at my table
And partake of me and mine?
We shall feast and toast our friendship
Sweet score, life’s seasoning brine

I would certainly join you, my friend at the table – and more! A wonderful poem, with a wonderful concept, perfect rhyming scheme and an all around poetic jewel.

Warmest -

Ridge

G'day Rhoda...
What a delight to read, this poem of yours. I'd say its a lyric for a song Rhoda, and a bloody good one.
Thanks for sharing.

It's very appealing, Rhoda, gives a nice cosy warm feeling which suits the poem. Only thing is, the last line puzzles me - what's the "sweet score" and how do you get to "roiling brine"? I may be dense but I'm stumbling on these.

Ronda, Don't know a lot of the GP folks well yet, but have found everyone to be so very warm and kind. This poem is very inviting, I loved it. I also would be honored to perhaps be one of those guests! Smile Thanks for sharing this beautiful piece.
