The Righteous Child

by Lou

Bless my children
Make them wise
To view this world
Through compassionate eyes,
Make them kind good and true
That I may say,
I’m proud of you.

Make them strive
To reach their goals
That they may earn
A worthy soul,
That people say
Without a doubt
Wish they we're mine!
With chest filled out.

That they may fight
For worthy cause
With head held high
May I propose?
They right the wrongs
Of lesser souls.

That in my grave
I rest in peace
My soul lives on
Still proud deceased,
The Lord then winks
And gives a smile,
Well done my son
For righteous child.

Mello, I cannot imagine a child of yours doing anything but good, you can read so much from a person's words. Hat's off to you and your husband my friend. God bless, Lou.

Written with great sincerety, Lou... you have much to be proud of in the son I'm acquainted with. His dedication to the needs of children as well as to peace and justice in the world always inspires me. I sense your contribution to his courageous spirit. Cheers my friend, Mary Ann

Hi Mary Ann my friend, I hope your well. Thank you for your comment's. I'm sure you'll agree that should future generations of our children be righteous, perhaps the world would be a better place? As for my eldest I agree he's come out pretty well under the circumstances with regards to his childhood, broken marriage etc, but that's a testament to his character and determination. Cheers Lou

Hello Dave my friend I hope your keeping well. Thank you for your comments. I suppose we as parents can only hope that we have educated our children enough to be loving caring honest and perhaps forgiving, and steer clear of the pitfalls in life, ie; becoming a politician for example, ha ha. G'day Lou...
Reads like a prayer to me Lou, and a bloody good one. As parents, we all pray that our kids turn into good citizens who make us proud in whatever field they choose.
