Old Souls

Try to seek me out
In everything you touch
But there you won’t find me
No matter how much

Only look within
Whenever you need me
And as long as you do this
You will feel me completely

For if you can feel
My presence on your heart
Is reason why distance nor death
Can ever keep us apart

So I can’t be hurt
By things you have to do
Because deep inside my depths
I forever hold you too

I took my old poem "I Understand" and revamped it to suit current feelings. This is the outcome.

A wonderful poem, conveyed simply with perfect rhythm and flow. It’s a reminder that so long as you hold love in your heart, you are never apart…no matter. A perfect poem for a departing soldier, a relocating lover, or someone prepared to pass on to the afterlife for whatever reason life has chosen. I enjoyed this very much, for its simplicity of delivery and depth of meaning. A triumph!
