Black America: Wake the Hell Up!

Look I have something that needs to be addressed/
And hopefully when I’m done you’ll be blessed/
By the truth I have confessed/
And had to get off my chest/

Why must we all act like ignorant people-Mexicans/
Africans/
Asians/
Caucasians/
Hell- all colors, shapes, and sizes of Americans/
Don’t get mad at me because I’m telling the truth/
We all acting stupid and that’s the ignorant truth/
But I’m talking to my people to enlighten the youth/
We have our hair now in corn rows and braids/
Back in the early nineties it use to be waves/
We “In Da’ Club” starting raids/
Kids in school making bad grades/
We killing each otha’/
My Sista’/
My brotha’/
Over ignorant thangs/
Such as a man/
Or woman/
Or even loose change/
Drive byes on the Bays/
In peoples driveways/
In the middle of broad days/
Stabbing and blowing peoples brains out/
And black America wants to bum ‘out/
Get jobs/
And wake the hell up black America and lets stop the drought/
And stop the system from thinking/
That they taking/
Over/
If we keep waiting/
Our lives will be over/
There’s no more to rap music/
Than it just being music/
You want the truth people- its only just music/
Killings a rapper says he’s done- It’s only just music/
You getting caught up by lyrics/
You feel that influence- but don’t forget that it’s only just music/
Your mind all corrupted from the weed that you smoke/
You getting straight stupid because your mind is on dope/
Wake the hell up Black America and see where we are headed/
We at a half tank of gas and I’m not talking leaded/
Or unleaded/
I’m talking about our population with only half of us educated/
Get right youth/
I’m telling the truth/
Because I once was ignorant but now I know the truth/
And can’t nobody earn that degree for you/
Except for you/
Wake up Black America/
Because you owe yourself Black America/
America/
Doesn’t owe you///
