Love Beyond Death

by Disfrazada

The most memorable song I’ve ever heard,
Touched me oh so deep within,
Serene and pure, my heart did soar,
Like it was floating high on angel wings.
What joyfulness this song did bring,
Like angel’s voices on the ears,
For a moment it made me forget my cares,
And dried up all my solemn tears.

I slowly lost all sense of time,
As I thought upon, such a song divine.
Whence or how, could such songs appear?
Was heaven drawing near?
I’m sure this sounds like embroidered words,
What took place, what did occur?
Well dear friends I won’t refrain,
I’ll tell you every word.

A gentle spirit had lost her way,
And sang of days of yesteryear,
How lovers held hands upon the bay,
And made love on moon lit shores.
She sang of hills and running streams,
Romantic boat rides on the sea,
And oh how beautiful true love can be,
But her life is nevermore.

Henceforth this song by this maiden passed,
Will pierce my soul like broken glass,
For it sang of love that truly last,
And stood the test of time.
Dissevered love by death’s last breath,
Went beyond, though laid to rest,
such a love was truly blessed,
And stood the test of time.
