car accident

by omegapaf

" send me your pillow....the one that you dreamed on " - the smiths

going past on the bus, there were guts all over the place
a shaking lady with a horrified look on her face
shouting cops with sirens shooing rubberneckers like me away
but the man in the car has to stay
the only moving on he'll be doing, is to the morgues vault
the other motorist telling the cops it wasn't his fault

another careless driver pays the ultimate price
another day in paradise

i don't want to be here. i don't want to look
more gore than you'd find in any stephen king book

i think of all the people i know who can drive
and hope they will survive
i know i annoy them, by nagging to drive carefully
but i just hope they sometimes listen to me

but i'll nag car drivers one more time
the next time you are tempted to race
remember your guts should be inside your body
not splattered all over your girlfriends face
and you drunk drivers, your last late night toddy
may be your final crime

as the bus speeded up, so everyone could go earn their pay
the horrified lady caught my eye
i finally looked away
what could i possibly do, or say
i'm just a horrified ally.

i remember seeing a dog run over as a child, and how it made me feel
and swearing that i'd never sit behind the wheel.

" the horror....................the horror " - marlon brando - apocalypse now

" hurtling along at 70MPH in a two ton piece of metal, and glass just frightens me...why can't we all just ride horses " - zoe.
