Few and Far Between

In the spring and summer
of my life it seemed as if
time went on forever.

High energy days were a given
as we laughed and played
in the spring. And summer

brought hot sun and long nights
to dance and run with friends.
Time went on forever

when I was young, with no
clue I should treasure my days,
in the spring and summer.

The days of autumn slowed
me down while I wished for when
time went on forever.

In my winter high energy days
are few and far between.
Time went on forever
in the spring and summer.
