Memory Pills

I swallowed memory pills of you tonight
That you so carefully hid in platters of food
That came from your kitchen, about that I’m sure,
Lying in wait to lure and ensnare me

And as I lay awake in dread of what was to come
You came, sure as the sunrise and sunset
Walking into my heart to tear it apart,
Just as you had always done, when we were both awake

And just like a seed sown in fertile ground
You sprouted and colonised this fragile mind
Spewing dreams into it at your will
Mesmerising and enslaving this malleable spirit

I go along with the ride on the rollercoaster
Just to be with you once again and forever
Yet when I awaken you are no more
That is your power as temptress and sorcerer
