When I write poetry I try to write about the deepest layers of human emotion, even with a simple love poem by inserting layers of conflicting emotion into it. That is what makes a good poem to me and you have nailed it with this one, surely a ten. Jan

shooting from the hip here harry. i wonder if these people do ever think ahead to what their creations could become? like mr alfred nobel ( of nobel prize fame ) and his dynamite invention, or mr gattling, and his gattling gun....wasn't it robert oppenheimer after he worked opon the nuclear bomb, and saw what it could do, that quoted the hindu scriptures saying " i am become death...the destroyer of worlds ". - bang bang - paul.

I made it to protect the motherland. I wanted to invent an engine that could run for ever. I could have developed a new train, had I stayed in the railway. It would have looked like the AK-47 though. Mikhail Kalashnikov. How is that for taking words out of context?

Oliver Fisher Winchester, I could not find one quote, I guess he let his guns do the talking. Typical American...

Harry you are so damned interesting & I want to try your style of writing & not make it so damned obvious & before I do can you enlighten me on what you call the style & I want to tell you I get so damned dehydrated waiting for another poem from my friend on the other side of this blue marble to post & then they are always worth waiting for & Violence, war, children it is always a sad story & we as adults led children by our influences.

What the world needs is more common sense to practice what they preach while bringing real needs to the table of life. They say war is essential, but it is peace-degrading especially if the war is about peace! Guns, murderers, and then soldiers. It all seems like a pseudo-class of the state of humanity.

I sometimes ponder about the various artistic geniuses within this world and relate them to the sickness that prevails. Some have expressions and others copy off the earlier expressions and relate them to the darkness of today with a twist. Good poem, you nailed it on the head.

The baby and this, the deadened. The weak, and the rapport of 'falling automatic images' that pertain to guns and whatnot. The unborn child turns into a dead child from a murderer or his/her own mother/father.

That is funny when I commented on this work an advertisement from google posted a semi-automatic rifle that looked like a weapon of war. Now a poem that speaks the nastiness of war is advertising weapons of war.

Sammi wrote a poem that express ambiguity or the fact that conundrum is like 'enigma' and sounds like a riddle on steroids? What word play is expressing here from google is I don't care what you are saying express ugliness, I have a gun for sale.

Then google is a super computer with a sense of weird humor or just a victim circumstances.

I see this less as a statement about gun control than as an observation about human nature. Evil people would find a way to be evil, with or without guns. Very thought provoking as usual, Harry.

This was quite powerfull and shook me to my core loved the ending my friend. Really liked the styling of this wording and rhyme sceme. Really really liked the ending going from generalitys to hard core rage and disgust and pain. Stray bullets have no names. And this is a good double flip side of the coin mirror type of piece really dug it my friend great write.
