Poems - slender she stands upon the sill

slender she stands upon the sill

by Rabbitt

slender she stands upon the sill
longing she looks upon the hill
but sees no one to do her will
none to provide her needed fill

while rising toward her from below
too underneath for her to know
another stem begins to grow
inch at a time and slow by slow

until she feels him wind around
gently bending toward the ground
the very thing she needs is found
and pollinate will much abound

her seeds will burst and gladly yield
unending stream from sill to field
until her isolation's healed
and life will for a time be sealed
