Fire Flowers

Last night you grasped the stars
as they were slipping off
the edge of my horizon
and shook them back into the sky

you are quicksilver
leaving me dazed,
wordless

yet my skin remains alive
with the deep imprint
of your touch

as I burn your letters
the pages curl,
then bloom
into fire flowers
