When she said

by KilgoreTrout

The meanings
all died
in the war,
only words remain.

When
she said
she wouldn’t be home
for tea, it meant just that.

The fog
hanging over
the city’s just fog hanging
over a city.

The man
on channel 9
hunts under the sea:
it’s just TV.

The scream
of the spin
of the washing machine
is just another noise.

When
I say
I’m at peace,
for now, it means just that.

I am happy and that is life. My blood pressure is never high and that is because of a happy life.

I think it would be great if everyone could read what you are saying here. My wife and I bought some peacocks and one decide to roast outside the window and in the middle of the night it let out a scream (you know what I mean if you ever heard one) I said you wanted peacocks and that is what you get. Over the years their screams became not a waking thought. Life is what you make of it.

In hopes for peace... BWP... James...

Thnaks James, you really got to the heart of this poem - and that's a great story about the peacocks!
