Just Words

My favorite words twirl oceans
Breaking bread over the abyss
In the horizon
They just break
Crumbling over wishes and wells
Street light corners
That fall blank

Do lips break as well
Do wills bend like hurricanes
Stealing shores to feed lions
To a pale-faced moon


I wonder still
Should fate breaks as we
Beyond dreaming
Someday
Maybe Wednesday
Someday
Passing maybe
Someday

I wonder still

I admit from time to time
I pass the mirror
Wondering in silence still
If it sees what I see
Or is still just a lie
That my mother told me
