Someone To Share, A Pujatale by Tasha

by Pujakins

There once was a bird named Freddie
that flew around all day looking for food.
Other birds said, "Come play!" but he never had time.

"I'll come as soon as I catch that delicious bug,"
but then he'd notice a berry bush and begin to eat.
Finally they all left him alone
to do what he wanted and played without him.

One day a new bird named Joanie noticed Freddie.
"Who's he? What 's he doing all by himself?"
"He won't play with us, too busy looking for food."
"That's silly, there's plenty of food to be had all the time!"

She flew over to Freddie. He was pecking at a strawberry.
"Hi, my name's Joanie, what's yours?"
"Freddie," he said, and went on eating.
"Can I join you?" "I suppose so."
"Looks like there's plenty of nice berries here." Freddie didn't answer.
He moved over to a sunflower and gobbled the seeds.
Joanie followed him but he didn't pay any attention to her.
Saddened, she flew to the birdbath and washed off her wings.
It felt good to play in the water.

"Freddie, come play in the water." "Can't, eating."
"Come over and dip your beak in this water,
it feels really wonderful. I'll show you."
She scooped some water into her beak, and dropped it on his head."

"What'd you do that for!"
She did it again and again.
Finally he noticed what it felt like.
He followed her over to the birdbath,
jumped in and began to splash about.
"Hey, this really does feel good."
"Now play swoop with me," she said.
She flew up into the air and glided around in a circle.
He followed her and soon he was having fun.
He forgot about eating and looking for food;
for the first time in his whole life he began to play.

The other birds were amazed.
"Look at Freddie, he's playing!"
Everyone had a fine time
darting, swooping, singing and fluttering.
When they got hungry they all went in search of mosquitoes.
Freddie and Joanie joined in. And when it was time to play again,
Freddie played along with everyone else.

"I don't know why I never did this before," he said.
"Maybe because you never had anyone fun to do it with".
"I think you're right!"
After that he enjoyed eating
but he was happy to stop and play,
and there was always plenty to eat
and someone to share it with too.

This is a good example how we should be with people. Alot of lonely people in the world that just a moment of your time would open their life up. Never give up on anyone. Great story. Love it! Take care, Gail
