the rotting earth

A poet is dead until found
Under the rotting earth
The earth that shook souls
Until the ghosts of humanity emerged
One by one into the fear
Haitians running for cover
Yet none to be found
For the white ghost blisters
And erupted that fateful day
In the eyes of death
We stood and stared
Until life gone

Tears for Kathleen
Under the earth
Into the great heaven
Amidst the forefathers of our nation
we pray for her return
