Poems - Cold Hands

Cold Hands

My hands are cold this morning
as the winter chill creeps in through
cracks and crevices in the old house.
The furnace warms the house
but somehow not my hands
that find it hard to type
out poems on the keyboard.
Icy fingers are slow and stiff
and at times painful, but I remember
what my father always said
about cold hands when I would complain.
He would smile and tell me
cold hands means a warm heart
and that is so much better
than the opposite.

My hand go back an forth. Sometimes they're warm sometimes they're cold. I never worry about it .....nice poem.

Bonnie I think we are lucky most of the winter has not been all that bad here in SC. We do need some rain I hope we don't get it in snow. I know you are just up the road a few miles must not be that different in temperatures. I heard that saying so many times. Is it a warm heart when some one wakes one up with cold hands? That is one unpleasant feeling to get such a surprise. I sure hope that our summer is not a burning hell with no rainfall.

Yep, it's flippin' cold here in London too and I don't have central heating either - but your father was absolutely right about your warm heart! Loved the poem, very descriptive.
