Poems - Summer Breezes

Summer Breezes

As the winter cold creeps into my bones
it chills me with it's icy fingers
that twist around my body
in a grip of the frosts bitter sting.
I find myself in a memory
of walking on the warm sands,
of the beaches by the lake and
relishing in the warm summer breeze,
that carries across the lake
the scents of fish and water and sunshine,
as the sand warms my bare feet
and the sun leaves warm kisses on my cheeks.
Then a freezing wind brings me back
to the reality of winters sting,
still I relish in the soft memory
of warm sand, sun kisses and summer breezes.
