Who hears
the calling
of the lone wolf at night
knows it’s sad and mournful sound
breaks hearts
sears souls
brings tears.

Who hears
the calling
of the wild coyote feels fear
as the cry pierces the lonely night
in sharp
hungry cries
of despair.

Who hears
the calling
of the mountain lion’s fearless roar
as it attacks its unwary prey
knows nature
rules us
with supremacy.
