Three Kyoka

sitting at last
in my new apartment
I realize
too late...
no toilet paper

a frozen banana
falls to the floor
with a thud...
only in my dreams
could I get so hard

never too old
to start something new
tonight
I have begun
drooling on my pillow

    Basically it is a humorous tanka. Tanka is a five line poem with a certain typical structure - much has been written about that - what distinguishes a tanka from any other five line poem. There is one web site that publishes Kyoka, called Prune Juice. These three poems are going to be published there in April.

Not a belly laugh, but more like a very satisfying giggle to start my morning. Where is Ken, I have been wondering? Now here you are in your nice new digs, amusing. O-la my friend - quite enjoyed this.
