Just looking, whats cooking?

by well_in_black

Oh the rage, of the fury,
May the fire of hell,
Shoot on through,
And swallow me whole!

That’s what you want,
A reaction, a childish tantrum no doubt.
But guess what sweetheart,
You have to go elsewhere for that.

Ha! You probably already do!
You who flaunt and complain,
I heard about that blind date
Your friends set up for you.

To build upon your wrath,
I add a little more kindling to the fire-
Yep, i didn't do the dishes either
If this is what this is about.

But of course dishes is not
What this is about, yet build
The fire it does, until the house is almost set alight-
A veritable heatwave of fury!

And now your at the tipping point,
I guess I better intervene
Before you explode. I agree, i say
I shan't change, and neither will you
Its much too late, let's end this now
Lets not let any more time get to waste.

There, its done its been said
And i haven't even raised the issue of your
Infidelities. And take great comfort
Looking at your bewildered face.

And then the dawning releif,
Of a person who thinks she's gotten away
With her actions, yet again.
Let her play pretend...as long as its not around me.

oh fantastic! how true it is- that the fights about seemingly trvial and obstuse things, like the dishes, are really about whats going on behind the scenes at a very personal and political level. brilliant. really fantastic! wow., i can so relate to this. well well done.

    thanks paul,
yep i guess i didnt want the breakup theme to be the main attraction though, i felt the fire imagery to be more powerful, and the contrast of that being alleviated upon the close of the relationship.
