Poems - RAGING STORM
| | RAGING STORMby dav.smith
He cringed under the bed sheets
he hated these Raging storms
The smashing and crashing of the thunder
and rage filled lightning
He couldn't stand the roaring and bellowing
or the shuddering of the lightning striking
under these sheets he could hide
from the angry clouds that hovered so close
He remembered the last Raging storm
how it had bruised his little mind
and how he cried with the raining and hid for hours after
not coming out till it was fully passed and calm
O' how he hates these Raging storms
that come more frequent and have grown larger
and how he suffers more after each storm
if only, he thinks, if only his mum would stay off these drugs

This lit a smoldering flame; a thirteen-year-old boy at the top of the stairs with a bigger then he shotgun waiting for the drunken rage and vowing not again; luck intervened and a deep love and friendship survived for many years. Have a grand tomorrow…Jack
