Valentine, The Legend (one of many.....)

Helping Christian prisoners,
escape the Roman wrath
Valentine incarcerated,
death the only path

A friendly jailor’s daughter
befriended him with love
They shared his little time on earth
'till called, to God above

He wrote her daily letters
that stand the test of time
As the salutation ending them,
was.... “From your Valentine.”

As you scribble in your cards today
think carefully what you say
For the martyr, who became a saint
gave all, for our today............
