Till Dawn Villanelle

by pandagirl15

I would not be the sun to end your night,
Nor would I be the clock to turn your tears.
But I will watch with you until it's light.

Because there are no words to set things white
Nor hopes that one immersed in mourning spares,
I would not be the sun to end your night,

Offering perspicacity far too bright
To soothe your distress or put to rest your fears.
But I will watch with you until it's light.

There must be time to grieve that sorrow plight
Be equal to the energy of days and years.
I would not be the sun to end your night.

For grief, before it shatters, must reach its flight,
And tides must turn before one homeward steers.
But I will watch with you until it's light.

There are agonies no friendship can requite,
A bitterness unstained till dawn appears.
I would not be the sun to end your night.
But I will watch with you until it's light.

This is really good. (Score: 1 )

This is really good. Your emotion is raw and real. One thing you might try is to modify your repeating lines just slightly in order to add to the music or rythym of this poem. Beautifully done.

The word "white" in the second stanza almost seems like a typo.
